1995 I presented a plan to the city of Ottawa to implement a sidewalk recycling bin program. I was involved in a test pilot to create an assessment to determine if the recycling service costs could be covered through the sale of advertising on the side of the bins. Today there are over 1100 city recycling bins throughout Ottawa in which the cost of the recycling bins and the garbage pickup is fully paid for by advertising revenue.
